Volunteering In Retirement

Last modified on November 12, 2025
These benefits are for official U.S. Intel retirees only.

Volunteer Matching Program

Intel Retiree’s skills and energy bring great value to our communities. For retirees that retired under one of Intel’s formal retirement programs, Intel increases the value of your volunteering by donating $10 for each hour you volunteer to most non-profit 501(c)3 under the Intel Involved Volunteer Matching program. This is the same program provided to Intel employees

Hours can be reported any time using your Benevity account, but all must be reported by December 31st, 12:00pm (PST), of every year. Note: Intel involved volunteer hours must be logged to a specific cause to get volunteer matching.

  • Details on how to report hours to a specific cause are found here
  • For more information on reporting hours, see Tips for Reporting Volunteer Hours
  • For complete details on the program, Matching Program Policy and Policy FAQ
  • What Counts as Volunteering
  • For a step-by-step users guide, see Benevity Volunteer User Guide

If you have a question about reported hours or a specific non-profit’s grant status, contact retiree.volunteers@intel.com.  The IRO Volunteer committee is in contact with the Intel folks that manage the local and general volunteer programs.  If you have general questions or recommendations about the Intel Involved Retiree benefit, please send them to our mailbox.

With the 2025 transition to the Intel Foundation’s updated Matching Program, a Payout Report will not be posted for 2024. For 2024 hours, we recommend you verify a payout was received by your cause. If you have a question about an expected payout, you can email the Intel Foundation.  Payouts for eligible 2025 hours submitted are typically processed within 60 days and sent to eligible organizations. The status of these “Dollars for Doers” payouts is posted on your Benevity Account Dashboard login landing page in the “My Impact” box,  Links in this box will show the hours your have logged, the amount matched, and the status of the payout reward to your cause.

Here is a chart that shows how retirees are using this benefit year to year.
