HEALTHCARE BENEFITS – Gail Womack & Cynthia Pedigo, Co-chairs
CHOOSING A HEALTHCARE PLAN THAT’S RIGHT FOR YOU Pre-Medicare If you choose a healthcare plan on the Marketplace, you are assured that it will cover ten essential healthcare benefits. While premiums may be lower for short-term coverage plans, Federal regulations allow short term plans to create their own coverage plans without any mandates. Many essential benefits may not be covered and out of pocket costs can be high. While premiums for the Intel Retiree Medical Plan (IRMP) are generally higher than marketplace plans, coverage is often more extensive with lower out of pocket costs. For tips and guidance on choosing a plan that is right for you, click HERE. |
ANNUAL ENROLLMENT DATES ANNOUNCED: October 26-November 20, 2020. In 2021, the IRMP administrator will change from Cigna to Anthem. This change was effective for active employees last year. Intel understands change can be disruptive and has a commitment to delivering the best overall medical plans for employees and retirees. Details will be available in the October Newsflash. |
IS YOUR MAILING ADDRESS UP TO DATE? MATCHING DONATION OPPORTUNITIES 2020 California Wildfires Disaster Relief Matching Donations until Sept. 10, 2020 For the next two weeks, the Intel Foundation will match donations made by all Global Blue Badge employees and retirees to identified organizations, up to $1,000 per employee. This Disaster Relief Match opportunity is not considered part of the U.S. Donation Matching annual giving limit of $10,000 and is available until 5 p.m. (Pacific) Sept 10th, 2020 or until the campaign match cap of $75,000 is met (for up to a total of $150,000). |
DISASTER AND RELIEF CAMPAIGNS With the migration to Benevity, the Intel Foundation has replaced their major Disaster Relief Matching grants with more frequent and usually smaller campaigns for both Natural Disasters and Humanitarian Crisis. These campaigns select eligible causes that equally share in the donations and matches. Donations to campaigns can only be made through the Benevity site and NOT directly to the causes and later submitted as a match request. Campaigns are announced on the IRO home page and in the IRO closed Facebook group. Campaign notifications may be emailed or mentioned in the News Flash depending on the timing and other specifics of the campaign. More details are given here and campaign updates and final results are posted here. |
