ANNUAL DINNERS ARE COMING UP
Once a year hundreds of Intel retirees gather at various major sites for our annual dinners. This is an opportunity to renew friendships, network and hear current Intel news. Annual dinners are open to retirees and their guest. Visit site calendars for specific event details at your nearby site. Email invitations will be sent in September to IRO members who are near a site where there is a dinner.
ASK IRO Mailbox Question: I recently changed both my email address and my home address. What is the process for informing the Intel Retiree Organization of these changes? Answer: To notify the IRO of your email address change, simply send a message with the relevant information to the IRO mailbox. As for your home address change, the law requires Intel to manage that information. We’ve created an instruction sheet to guide you through the process to inform Intel of your home address change. |

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FALL COMMUNITY GIVING/UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN?
Last year Intel replaced this annual giving campaign with a new Matching Gifts program. First time users need to contact support@benevity.org to create an account and obtain the required log in information. Once registered you can make a donation by logging into, https://intel.benevity.org/. For complete details of the program click here.
WHAT IS A PC PAL?
“PC Pals” is an email-based mentoring program started and administered by Intel. Middle school students are paired with Intel employees/retirees during the school year to exchange emails twice per week. This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for retirees as it can be done any time, any place – you just need an Internet email connection. Contact Sam Phillips, samuel.u.phillips@intel.com to sign-up for a Folsom area Title 1 school that is in real need. Click here for more program details and additional sign-up contacts.
NEW – ARIZONA SITE: The Desert Botanical Garden is looking for people interested in sharing information with our visitors about the wonders of the Sonoran Desert. If you enjoy working with people and love the desert go to the Garden website, dbg.org and fill out the Volunteer Application form. New volunteer trainings will be held in October, November, January and February. For more information, email Nancy White or call 480-481-8197.
NEW – AZ MENTORS NEEDED: Inspire children in Phoenix by volunteering as a mentor this fall. Two non-profits, Iridescent and Aguila Youth, have teamed up with Intel’s She Will Connect program to bring Curiosity Machine to three schools in the West Valley and offer students and their families the opportunity to learn how to apply the engineering design by building hands on activities. Events requiring volunteer mentors will be held on 9/21, 9/28, 10/3, 10/19, 11/2. Contact roxana@iridescentlearning.org to sign up for training in mid-September!
