Getting the Most for your Volunteer Hours

Last modified on January 31, 2023
The content on this page applies to Official US Retirees only

In addition to the value your skills bring to organizations when you volunteer, Intel will pay any qualified* 501 (C)(3) non profit organization $10.00 for each hour you volunteer up to $10,000 per year. Whether you volunteer for one non‐profit, or several, your hours count and these organizations can receive dollars as well as your time. Some non‐profits will submit hours on your behalf but others may not be set up to do this for you. We recommend that you check with the organizations to which you volunteer and be prepared to submit your hours directly to Intel.

Hours can be submitted daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually but all hours MUST be reported before the deadline for that year in order to be eligible for the organization to receive a matching payout from the Intel Foundation.  Please mark your calendar to insure that you submit your hours before the deadline to get the most for your volunteer hours. Hours are reported using the Benevity on-line portal. Instructions on how to view the volunteer hours that you have logged are found here.

* A complete description of what organizations and what activities qualify can be found here.

Sam Louke of Oregon provides over $11,700 to his favorite non profits through his volunteer efforts in 2009.
