General campaign information:
Q1: When is the 2011 Intel Retiree Community Giving Campaign?
A1: This year’s Community Giving Campaign begins Monday, Oct. 10 through Friday, Nov. 4
Q2: How does donating through the Intel Retiree Community Giving Campaign benefit me/the community?
A2: Donating through the Intel Retiree Community Giving Campaign provides a double impact to the community.
You can select a non profit organization(s) of your choice and 100% of your donation goes directly to that organization. The Intel Foundation matches your donation (up to $10,000) to your local United Way Community Impact Fund. The Intel Foundation will match gifts up to $10 Million nationally.
Example: You donate $2,000 to your local Red Cross chapter. Intel then matches that by sending a grant to your local United Way Community Impact Fund.
Q3: How much does the Intel Foundation give?
A3: Anticipating continued growth in total employee/retiree gifts through the Intel Community Giving Campaign, the Intel Foundation will match total employee/retiree gifts up to $10 million annually.
Q4: What is the United Way Community Impact Fund?
A4: The United Way Community Impact Fund supports projects that focus on education, income and health. Funded programs provide support for individuals and families with immediate needs while establishing a foundation for long-term change.
For a full list of projects/program funded in your area visit the United Way website and search by zip code.
Q5: What if I disagree with some of the programs that United Way chooses to fund and do not want the matching dollars to support them?
A5: Each local United Way utilizes volunteers to select the programs to fund. The Intel Foundation feels that United Way offers a wide variety of programs to ensure children succeed, that families have income to thrive and also good health.
