The content on this page applies to Official US Retirees only

  1. You can customize your profile in the system to quickly find local charities and schools, sort by your interests, and tag your favorites.
  2. Matches go directly to the eligible charitable organization or school where you made your donation.
  3. Real-time matching takes place for donations made via the portal – no need to upload a receipt. Monthly payments are made to eligible organizations and schools.
  4. Your personal dashboard will show the status of donations made in the portal and match
    request payments.
  5. You can set up one-time or recurring credit card or PayPal donations, or easily duplicate a past donation.
  6. Receipts are available and stored for donations made via the portal.
  7. Eligible charitable organizations and schools register in the Causes Portal and create a profile. The portal gives them detailed monthly reporting on donations and payouts. “Cause” is the generic term used for charity or school in the portal.
  8. There is no minimum amount required to make a donation. However, the minimum donation to apply for a match is $1.
  9. Data from the Matching Gifts to Education program has been transferred to the new portal so there is one system to give and request a match.
  10. More than 40,000 charitable organizations and schools are already registered in the Causes Portal. It’s easy to find and donate to your favorite organization or nominate them for consideration if they aren’t already there.
