Why join the Intel Retiree Organization?

Retirement Verification by Intel HR is required for IRO Membership

  • You must be an official Intel retiree
    • You can not be verified as retired until you are no longer employed by Intel. Wait until after your last day of work at Intel to apply for IRO membership
  • International and US official Intel retirees are accepted as members. Intel guidelines govern “official Intel retiree status” for the US and each international site
  • Surviving spouse/significant other may retain membership in IRO

New Members to IRO can join by filling out the webform on the right

  • DO NOT sign up BEFORE your official retirement date. – you will be rejected during the Intel HR verification
  • YOU MUST USE YOUR HOME EMAIL ADDRESS – not your old work intel.com email
    • You will be sent an opt-in email from MailChimp with a link that you need to click to opt-in to receiving emails from IRO. (Check your spam folder if you don;t see it within a minute or so.) If you are retired, you can’t get your email from your old intel work email account.
    • DO NOT use an intelretiree.com email forwarder address.
    • If you were ONCE an IRO member verified by HR and want to rejoin IRO after unsubscribing, sign up again using the same email address. You will receive an opt-in email link from MailChimp to verify you want to rejoin IRO – again, check your spam folder if you don’t see it within a minute or 2. If you were previously HR verified as a retiree, our system will unarchive you, recreate a intelretiree.com forwarder. and resubscribe you to future mailings.
  • Having problems with the signup form? A few people with ad blockers or security extensions are not able to fill out the webform and submit their application. Our webform has captcha embedded to keep bots from filling in junk applications. Everyone with an issue that has tried to apply with another browser or turned off their extensions has resolved the problem.

Retiree Verification Process

  • When you sign up, you will receive an opt-in email from MailChimp - usually within a minute of applying. Often this goes to a spam folder - check after you click to join. You MUST open the email and opt in to receive emails from us.
  • It takes 3-6 weeks to for Intel HR to verify you are an official Intel Retiree. The clock starts after YOU reply to the email sent for you to OPT-IN to receiving mail from IRO. In the mean time, you can always the IRO website where all our content is posted.
  • Once you are confirmed as an official Intel retiree, you will receive an email welcoming you to IRO. The welcome email will include your new @intelretiree email address.
  • Applicants that are not official Intel retirees  will not be granted IRO membership and you will be sent a note stating you do not meet the retiree critieria. You are still welcome to view content on the IRO website if it is helpful for you, though the Intel sponsored benefits (emails from us, discounts, etc.) will not apply to you.

Leaving Intel Retiree Organization

  • To stop getting communications from IRO, you can unsubscribe using the link shown at the bottom of all of our IRO emails. This will end your membership in IRO, and we will remove your forwarder. You will no longer be able to communicate with McAfee through your @intelretiree.com email address.
  • If you decide to rejoin later using the same email address, you can apply with the webform to the right using the same email address. After you complete the opt-in, if you were previously HR verified, your membership will be reinstated, and your forwarder will be added back.
  • Your membership will be revoked if your emails bounce back to MailChimp from your email service - typically, if your mailbox is full for an extended time, or you cancel your email service at the email address you signed up with. If you tell us about the change after you have been cleaned by MailChimp, you will need to reapply and go through the Intel HR verification.

Update your email address before your IRO membership is cancelled

To change your email address with IRO, send an email including your WWID, your old email address, and your new email address to the IRO mailbox at intelretiree@gmail.com. We can update your email address for IRO mailings, and point your @intelretiree.com email forwarder to the new email

  • The Intel Retiree Organization email list is NOT available to share
  • Use the Intel Retiree Mailbox if you’d like to connect with another Intel retiree that you don’t find on Facebook
