Message from the Leadership Team – Howard High, Leadership Coordinator

June 2, 2022

Last modified on June 26, 2023

JUNE 2022 MESSAGE: HAPPY HOURS AND WEBSITE TEAM UPDATE

With COVID restrictions easing, IRO Site activities are starting up again. Folsom (happy hours every other month) and Santa Clara (wine and cheese party) recently held events that were well attended.

The first post-COVID gathering of Intel retirees in Santa Clara kicked off their 2022 events with the Annual Wine and Cheese Party at Ruth Short’s home in April. Ruth provided a variety of wines while attendees brought appetizers to share.

Oregon, Arizona, and New Mexico are investigating when and how they might restart social activities. IRO is also looking into restarting our annual site dinners, but things are in the very early stages as we work to gauge interest, venues, funding and more.

We have new leadership for the IRO Website Committee. Bob Starkston and Rich Bergin will co-chair the website committee. Both have many combined years of experience working with websites and WordPress, and have been members of the website team. We thank Irfan Aziz for his hard work and leadership of the website team as it transformed to using Block Editor and instigated an IRO website update/refresh designed to get you to your desired information quicker and to better perform on various viewing platforms (computer, tablet, phone).
