– July 2021 Message from the Leadership Team – Howard High, Leadership Coordinator

July 1, 2021

Last modified on June 26, 2023

Blue badge, drop-e friends
IRO seems to be humming along this month without any crisis for the Leadership Team to focus on. IRO volunteers continue to perform at an exemplary level and the committees they represent have their areas of coverage in sharp focus.

If you didn’t catch last month’s webinar on how to tap into your SERMA benefits (and are interested in that topic) I highly recommend you review the recording and the transcript. I thought it was exceptional.

Since IRO business is well in hand, my thoughts turned to a slightly different area of interest. I know of former Intel colleagues that are battling some health issues (it happens at our age), or some that are caring for ailing spouses or aging parents. These are people I worked with for almost 30 years, but more than a decade-and-a-half ago. These weren’t people in my close circle of personal friends, but my workmates, and I remain concerned for their well-being.

We worked together under a common set of values and toward a common goal, and together we accomplished some great feats, made a great company and had a profound impact on the world. Much like the kinship of soldiers that go into battle, each of you are my brothers and sisters and I care deeply about you. Many I have never worked with you directly, but we worked under the same flag.

As the world begins to open back up and we figure out what is the “new normal,” please be careful. You are part of the IRO and Intel community and there are many of us that are uneasy about the health and safety of you and your loved ones. You are part of our blue badge, drop-e community and you are important to us.
