We need your talents!
With all the recent actions at Intel, IRO has added several hundred new members to its ranks. This is a call out to all these new members (and IRO members in general) to volunteer to help IRO and your former Intel colleagues. We have needs on our Health and Benefits Committee, our discounts program, our Website Committee, and we would love to have someone help coordinate get-togethers at our largest site – Oregon. Want to really understand what benefits you have earned and how to utilize them in retirement? Join the team and work with the experts. After 15 years of retirees helping retirees through IRO, we need you to volunteer. If you are interested, please contact us using the IRO Mail Box
Website Committee changes
Rich Bergin has stepped down as co-chair of IRO’s Website Committee. Rich has served on the Website Committee for many, many years, offering his technical expertise to help establish the IRO website and keep it up and running. Rich always preferred to stay in the background but a few years ago when the need arose Rich stepped forward into a leadership role to keep the technical side of IRO moving forward. Now other priorities have arisen and Rich much answer that call for himself and his family with the same focus and energy he has given to us over the years. On behalf of all members of IRO, I want to thank Rich for all his contributions to the organization and acknowledge how his talents and skills have made our Intel retirees lives better. Thank you Rich
Gordon Moore Tribute Available for Replay

If you were unable to view the live tribute, it is now available on replay. In addition, if you are interested in learning more about Gordon, here is an interesting story by Walden Kirsch Gordon Moore: He Stood Alone Among Tech Titans
Eva Grove
An extended member of the Intel family, Eva Grove (Andy’s wife), passed away on May 31st. We all know working for Intel that the company’s culture and demands extended into one home life too. While Andy was the boss at Intel, Eva was the boss at home. She oversaw the family dealings while keeping “the toughest boss in America” on the straight and narrow. For those of you who had the chance to meet/interact with Eva, you should know that she recently passed, but remained dedicated to her family and the causes she championed. Her obituary can be read here. One Eva and Andy story…
Both were refugees (she from Austria and he from Hungary). They met in 1957 while they worked summer jobs at a New Hampshire resort. She was a waitress and he was a busboy. Eva recalled her first encounter with Andy saying “I walked into this room, and there were a bunch of guys. One shook my hand, and it was, you know, like shaking a limp fish. But then there was this really good-looking guy who shook my hand, and I was just like, wow!” They were married in June 1958 and remained so until Andy death in March 2016.
