IRO Interim Communications Plan
The News Flash needs a new editor and new distribution manager. In the meantime, the publication may take a hiatus for the next several months as the Communications Committee works to determine the best options on how to communicate IRO news to you. While the committee works to gather new volunteers/staff, you will likely receive more direct email blasts of time-critical information
If you are interested in becoming the News Flash editor, the position needs someone to compile the information received from IRO Committee Chairs, proof-read the content, and coordinate with IRO’s website committee to have that content posted onto our website
If you are interested in becoming our distribution manager, this volunteer will be trained to distribute various communications (such as the newsletter, invitations and reminders to social events, webinars, disaster match opportunities, etc.) to our membership via a program called MailChimp. We have one volunteer that manages and maintains the IRO mail list on MailChimp and another that manages the business part of the account (payments, etc.), so the distribution manager simply focuses on distributing supplied material to the IRO membership. MailChimp training is fast and easy. No coding, just using templates on your computer. It is estimated that this role will require 4-6 hours per month
If you are interested in helping to keep Intel retirees in the know, please contact us using the IRO Mail Box. We need volunteers for the News Flash Editor and Distribution Manager immediately
As always, the IRO website, IRO Facebook page, and mail box remain in place and active to also address your Intel retiree information needs
As IRO experiences an influx of new Intel retirees, we call out to new members to share your talents and opinions so IRO can deliver the best retirement experience possible to the Intel retiree community. If interested, please reach out to us via the IRO Mail Box.
