IMPORTANT CHANGES TO DONATION MATCHING PROGRAM
*** These changes do NOT affect the Intel Volunteer Program ***
The Intel Foundation’s Matching program resumed Jan 4, 2019, with several important changes summarized here with updated Guidelines/FAQs here.
These changes include:
- Increased giving flexibility by removing the donation category limits ($5,000 to non-profits and $5,000 to education organizations). Instead, your 2019 donations to any eligible causes will be matched up to $10,000 per year.
- Transition to quarterly matching goals, which will serve as the budget cap for each quarter. Donations will be matched in a quarter until the Intel Foundation hits their matching goal. If the goal is not reached, the remaining quarterly budget will roll over to the next quarter.
- Match requests for donations made directly to an organization must be submitted within 30 days of the date of the donation and funds must be available at the time the match request is submitted. Please ensure the receipt includes all five requirements (listed in the guidelines).
The status of matching funds is updated regularly in the Benevity system, in the News section of “My Dashboard.”
NO CHANGES TO INTEL INVOLVED VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
The changes above do NOT affect the Intel Involved volunteer matching program. Just like last year, the first round of payout checks for submitted 2018 volunteer hours is expected in Q2. These Intel Foundation programs are separate with different annual budgets and guidelines.
