HEALTH & BENEFITS – Tom Piete, Chairperson
SERMA ANNUAL RUN-OUT PERIOD
The SERMA plan year runs from January 1 through December 31 of each year. You may submit a claim for reimbursement of an eligible premium incurred during the plan year if:
- You file your claim AFTER your health coverage began (i.e., premium for March paid in February 2018 cannot be submitted for reimbursement until March 1, 2018).
- You file your claim before the annual run-out period ends March 31 of the following year.
- Claim Submission Deadline – You can submit claims for eligible premiums for the prior year (January 1 through December 31) until the run-out period ends March 31 of the current year. For example, a claim for premium coverage date of July 2017 can be submitted until March 31, 2018. The run-out period provides you extra time to submit your claims. If you do not submit your claims with complete supporting documentation by the March 31 run-out period, your claim will be denied.
DISCOUNTS – Cheryl Pruss, Chairperson
CHANGE COMING TO THE DISCOUNT PROGRAM FOR INTEL RETIREES
On March 12, Intel will be launching the new platform for the discount program. This means a change for the Intel retiree platform as well. The main changes to the program are:
- Name change: Advantage will become Employee Discounts – this will be the name of the program for both Intel employees and retirees
- Simplified registration – email only with passcode
- EOL of WOW points – existing WOW points will need to be used by 12/31/18
- Intel Exclusive offers now incorporated into all offers
Because of the change in the platform, all retirees will need to register for the new platform. The registration has been simplified and requires only your personal email address and the INTELRETIREE passcode. Click here for detailed instructions, available to guide you through the process.
