HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM YOUR INTEL RETIREE ORGANIZATION VOLUNTEERS!
2017 has been a terrific year for making progress in those areas identified by the 2016 survey of IRO members. We’ve vastly improved the search functionality at intelretiree.com, as well as listing important retiree dates, providing new discounts and improved content for the Health & Benefits and Volunteering portions of the web site. We’re just wrapping up a pilot of the IRO Hot Topics Forum. We look forward to serving you in 2018 and wish all of our members a very safe and happy holiday season!!!
SITE COORDINATORS NEEDED
Arizona: We need an Arizona-based retiree to volunteer to take on the important role of Site Coordinator for 2018. Be hub of social interactions at YOUR site! Interested? Contact Barb Frank.
Folsom: Folsom also needs a new Site Coordinator (or two to share) for 2018! Keep in touch with fellow retirees and plan social gatherings of your choice. This is a fun role and requires no more than a couple of hours per month. An Intel retiree living in the Folsom area is a must. Interested? Contact Barb Frank.
These positions also sit on our IRO Board of Directors, a two-hour quarterly meeting with fellow volunteers.
ARIZONA HOLDS ANNUAL DINNER!
Click here read all about it and check out some of the pictures! Watch for the Folsom dinner write-up in next month’s News Flash.
ASK IRO Mailbox Question: I understand that I need to “opt-out” of SERMA if I want to take advantage of Affordable Care Act (ACA) Premium Tax Credit. What is the process for opting out? Answer: You are correct. Retirees may not receive tax credits from the IRS under the ACA unless they first opt out of SERMA. To Opt Out of SERMA for a tax year, contact the Intel Health Benefits Center at 877-466-9236. Then:
To get more information on what types of healthcare insurance premiums can be reimbursed by SERMA (and more) go to the Intel Health and Benefits web site or to IRO’s IRMP and SERMA General Info and FAQs. |
