IRO SURVEY RESULTS AND PRIORITIES FOR 2017/2018
IRO’s major accomplishment in 2016 was our first-ever comprehensive survey of our IRO retiree population. Survey responses were integral in developing our 2017/2018 priorities. Read about the 2016 retiree survey results and 2017/2018 plans.
IRO RETIREMENT VERIFICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
Effective June 9, 2017, Intel Retiree Organization will begin verifying with Intel that IRO applicants retired under an official Intel retirement definition. We are making this process change to align with our charter, given we are a volunteer organization with limited resources. Any current members of IRO, that didn’t retire under an official Intel retirement definition, will remain IRO members. New applicants, after June 9, 2017, that didn’t retire under an official Intel retirement definition will not be granted membership to IRO. As always, Intel retirement benefits are available to Intel retirees that retired under an official Intel retirement definition.
ASK IRO Mailbox Question: Will I lose my SERMA if I don’t use it within a certain timeframe? Answer: Intel reserves the right to terminate your SERMA and forfeit your SERMA balance when: – The account has not been used after 20 consecutive years – You and your eligible dependent(s) die For more Information about SERMA visit Intel’s My Health Benefits Website or check out the IRMP/SERMA FAQ’s that the Intel Retiree Organization has posted for your convenience. |

CAN YOU SPARE SOME TIME?
IRO is seeking retirees who are willing to help on the Health/Benefits Committee as we undertake a project to update and re-format content on the IRO web site, specifically focusing on the decisions that retirees face in their first 18 months after retirement. If you would be willing to commit some time and effort on this project during the second half of 2017, please contact Tom Piete at intelretiree@gmail.com.
