Attendance at board meetings is open to all retirees who are members of IRO. If you would like to listen to your board at work, please send a request with one week’s notice to Barb Frank at Frankbarbara@sbcglobal.net. Are you a new retiree? ANNUAL HEALTHCARE ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN
Look here for deadlines and resources available to help you make your choices (note: these are the accurate deadlines, other mailings may not have been clear).
View 2016 Annual Enrollment Virtual Roadshow – online presentations providing details for retirees not yet Medicare eligible and those who are Medicare eligible.
Note to Medicare eligible retirees (typically over age 65), educate yourself about how an indemnity policy works when making your IRMP decision. In the Virtual Roadshow select Retiree Health Program Summary. Pages 7 and 8 show a good explanation of how the plan reimburses, as the plan does not reimburse in the same way as a Medicare Supplemental plan. IRMP can provide extra benefits not covered by Medicare (check to see if you use these services) and an out-of-pocket maximum that will limit your costs if you have major medical needs.
If you are not yet Medicare eligible and looking for healthcare coverage

ANDY GROVE AWARDED CHURCHILL LEGENDARY LEADERSHIP AWARD
Andy Grove was honored with the Legendary Leadership Award at the 5th Annual CHURCHILLS, an event hosted by the Churchill Club to highlight excellence in innovation, leadership, collaboration and social benefit, for the purpose of inspiring others.
Even as Andy battles Parkinson’s, he is still inspiring others. Here are his words as he accepted the award: “One item food for thought, as we sit here and go through what each of us have done, our colleagues have done, my contemporaries have done, let’s remember that millions of young people who had the misfortune of being born in the wrong national boundaries are going through all the horrors described. I made it. Let’s try in a little way to help them make it.” To hear what true leaders are made of, watch the youtube video from 1:23:43 to 1:49:15.
VOLUNTEER – Ben Manny, Chairperson
ARE RETIREES LEAVING MONEY ON THE TABLE?
Last year less than 3% of our retirees submitted Intel Involved hours, yet 40% of employees submitted hours. If the retiree participation equaled the employee rate, the payout would be over $7 million. Think of the impact to our local communities! Most volunteer hours for public charities are eligible for an Intel Involved matching grant. Click here for Intel Involved program details. With less than two months left this year, there is still time to volunteer and report your hours.
