LET US KNOW HOW WE ARE DOING!
Send your questions and/or feedback to our mailbox. Your inputs are important for our requests of Intel. This year, we are focusing on expanding employee discounts and Great Place To Work benefits to retirees. Our priorities may change with the Supreme Court ruling on The Affordable Care Act. Now that we know the result, we will be talking with our Intel partners on the impacts for retirees.
HEALTH AND BENEFITS COMMITTEE – Cheryl Pruss, Chairperson
RESOURCES FOR YOUR INSURANCE NEEDS
In a recent News Flash we shared information on what to consider as COBRA is nearing an end, sharing information from other Intel retirees. Many retirees have been interested in getting contact information for insurance brokers who are recommended by other Intel retirees. Click here to learn more about why to use an insurance broker. A second article provides more information on services and cost. For retirees who choose not to use a broker, this third link, e-Health, is a web-based site that can provide many affordable health insurance options and price quotes.
VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE – Ben Manny, Chairperson
NEED TO POST A VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY?
Any Intel retiree may request to have a volunteer opportunity posted on this website. Requests are posted on the appropriate site listed under the Volunteer tab. Opportunities can be for a single event or for an on-going program. Opportunities must qualify for an Intel Involved Matching Grant. They also need to include contact information of an Intel retiree who advocates the opportunity and is willing to help other retirees engage. Please send any opportunities for posting to the Volunteer Committee Chairperson, Ben Manny, who is anxious to help with final editing and posting.
INSPIRE THE NEXT WAVE OF ENGINEERS
This summer Intel employees and retirees can share their commitment to science and technology by volunteering at our Folsom site. Up to 650 freshmen and sophomores in engineering programs at local community colleges and universities have been recruited and response has been great! If you have the time and passion to contribute to the IUEE and would like to register or find out more information check our website or contact Ronna Scott.

MUGGED IN MADRID – The latest Internet Scam to Cheat You
A new scam has been making the rounds, but it looks like it comes from a trusted friend. In this hoax, a friend says he made a trip to a foreign land and was mugged. His wallet stolen, he needs funds to settle hotel bills and return home. It comes from the email account of your friend and many times we rush to help friends in need. This happened to the wife of noted reporter, James Fallows. He documents the scam and all the hassles in trying to get things back to normal in this story.
