The annual Bay Area/Santa Clara Intel Retirement Organization held their second annual dinner on October 16, 2010 at Fiorello’s Restaurant in Santa Clara. The event provided a timely opportunity to learn more about the recent changes to SERMA and the upcoming Open Enrollment for 2011.
Barbara Frank, IRO President, hosted the dinner along with IRO Vice President, Cheryl Pruss. Devra Johnson, HR Director, BGHR and Strategic Programs, and Cheryl (who chairs the Health & Benefits committee for the Intel Retiree Organization) led a discussion about retiree benefits, Open Enrollment, IRMP and the new SERMA reimbursement change. We were also honored to have Ravi Jacob, Vice-President, Corporate Treasury as our guest speaker. Ravi provided an update on recent Intel business including revenue numbers for 2010 (best ever) and the recent acquisition of McAfee. He also discussed consumer product trends, comparing laptops withiPADs and smart phones.
In an effort to improve participation and satisfaction among retirees, a survey was distributed to the dinner attendees to gather feedback regarding IRO events. We sent the same survey to all our Bay Area IRO members who could not attend the dinner, so we can plan events for 2011 with everyone’s inputs. Results are below and will be considered as we plan events for next year.
