Oregon/Washington Intel® Retiree Interests

Oregon and Washington have begun sharing information relative to local interests and we expect our other sites to do the same. Site coordinators are working with Retirees in the Bay Area, Folsom, Arizona, and New Mexico to determine what would be of interest.

Intel Retirees have a variety of recreational preferences, skills, and personal interests. If you have a particular interest and would like to work with us to share it, please contact us.

Gardening

Our list of gardening resources for the Northwest gardener can provide advice on managing your garden each season. For more information contact us.

Hiking/Walking

The full beauty of Oregon is best seen while walking and hiking where no motorized vehicles can go. Exercise is essential to our good health. The combination is awesome. We present a list of hiking opportunities for our Retirees that represent some of the best hikes/walks in Oregon. We also encourage Retirees to send us information about hikes we have not yet tried. For more information, please contact us.

'Investeer' Club

The Retiree Investeer club is a social group that identifies potential stock opportunities and using software, tracks performance. Participants learn about balanced portfolios, market shifts, and how to understand and evaluate stocks using data. For more information about the group contact Ted Cornish.

Social Events

Oregon/Washington Retirees enjoy a monthly networking opportunity. The group meets at local restaurants each month to enjoy the food and friends. In addition, there is an annual summer picnic and an annual dinner. We have been fortunate to have several Retirees open their homes for potluck luncheons and in 2009 we will combine a potluck luncheon with a tour of a local winery. These fun-filled events are always well attended. Here is the current schedule of events. For more information about the group or to sign up for an event, contact Judy Goodman.

Travel

The travel page is an informal way to share trips and tricks, provide reviews of your experiences, connect with other travelers, and share discount opportunities. Currently, travelers are asked to send us articles for publication that are between 1 and 2 pages in length, along with pictures in jpeg format.  In the future, we may try to work with travel agents to develop specific trips.  For more information contact us.

The Intel Retiree Organization is a volunteer organization that does not endorse any business nor accept paid advertising. Information on our website or in our newsletter is provided as a service to Intel retirees and readers should not act on the basis of any information on the website without first obtaining advice relevant to their specific situation from Intel or from appropriate professional advisors.
