IRO HAS RELEASED A NEWLY FORMATTED MODERN WEBSITE
New Features:
- Website will be easy to read on your Desktop, Smartphone and Tablet
- List of key contacts in one place
- Easier to read web pages (Font size and page layouts)
- One place to go for any FAQs (coming in a week)
- Easier access to key web pages
- Improved search capability
I want to personally thank our technical web team that made this happen: Ross Winters, Rick Paulson and Kent Smith. Without their commitment and support, we would never have gotten this new web design done. Remember that they are all volunteers!
ASK IRO Mailbox Question: I tried enrolling in the new Employee Discounts Program but my personal email was not accepted. How do I access the program? Answer: There have been a few people that have had a problem getting registered with the new discount program. Our discounts chairperson, is providing feedback to the program that some retirees are having difficulties. The vendor, Beneplace, has been quick to help retirees work through the instructions and get problems resolved. The right thing for you to do now is to contact Beneplace to resolve your issue by phone: 800-683- 2886 or email Customer Service at info2@beneplace.com. |

ANOTHER SERMA DEADLINE?
The Good News: Intel has changed the deadline for submitting claims for eligible insurance premiums for SERMA reimbursements. The deadline is now May 31, 2018 for 2017 Insurance premiums. We here at IRO missed the Intel change and erroneously communicated that the deadline was March 31, 2018. As a result, you can still submit SERMA reimbursement claims for eligible insurance premiums for 2017 through May 31,2018. We apologize for any confusion.
DISCOUNTS – Cheryl Pruss, Chairperson

WEBINAR SURVEY
Your Intel Retiree Organization Communications Team will be piloting Web Enabled Teleconferencing in the near future. We will use Zoom Videoconferencing to provide an audio and visual educational opportunity. We are considering using this pilot to share information on using the Benevity Tool to make donations, report hours and find volunteer opportunities for Intel Matching Gifts and Intel Involved Volunteer Matching Grants programs. Would you want to spend an hour of your time to attend a webinar on this topic? We will pursue this topic if there is enough interest. Click here to generate a yes reply to our mailbox. If you already answered this survey on FaceBook, please don’t “vote again” here.
STEPHEN WILLIAM HAWKING (1942 – 2018) In 1963, Stephen Hawking contracted motor neuron disease and was given two years to live. Having defied the odds, theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking recently passed away on March 24, 2018. His death has given us pause to reflect back on a story, written by our own Howard High, on Stephen’s close ties to Intel and its role in “Giving a Voice to Genius.” |

2017 INTEL INVOLVED UPDATE
A total of 407 Intel retirees reported 107,068 Intel Involved hours for 517 unique causes (non-profits & schools). While the number of retirees and hours reported for 2017 are less than 2016, the 2016 numbers included employees reporting hours before the major June retirement event. First payouts for these 2017 reported hours are expected this quarter.
POSTING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
One of the nice features available with Benevity administering the Intel Involved program is the posting of volunteer opportunities by retirees and employees. This FAQ explains how.
APRIL IS NATIONAL VOLUNTEER MONTH
The Benevity site provides filters to help match your passions with causes that need volunteers. Your Benevity profile can be used to locate opportunities close to you that match the interests listed in your profile. Additional filters can be applied to further refine these opportunities. What better month than April to try a volunteer opportunity leading to a more fulfilling and healthy life after Intel.
