Volunteer for Intel ISEF 2017
The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) is returning to Los Angeles the week of May 14-19. Participation in Intel ISEF is an honor limited to approximately 1,800 finalists in grades 9-12 from 80 countries, and all 50 states within the US. Each finalist has won an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to compete for a portion of over $4 million in awards.Intel ISEF will fill the entirety of the Los Angeles Convention Center in downtown Los Angeles. To get a sense of the importance (and the spectacle) of Intel ISEF please see this brief three minute video of highlights from last year’s Fair which was held in Phoenix, AZ.
In order to fairly assess the finalists’ projects and select the best for awards, we need about 1,000 Grand Award judges in all fields of science, math, and engineering. Most Grand Award judges have a doctorate (Ph.D., M.D., D.V.M., or an equivalent), but the minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the relevant scientific discipline followed by a minimum of six years of professional experience in that scientific field.
